A more generous sense of arrival

6 More London is a contemporary office building characterized by expansive glazing, abundant natural light and a strong emphasis on sustainability and well-being. As part of a major refurbishment led by Barr Gazetas, its main reception was reimagined to create a more welcoming and impressive arrival experience.

The entrance was brought forward and the reception doubled in size, forming a dramatic double-height space with a stronger sense of arrival for occupiers and visitors. Armourcoat Acoustic Plaster was specified for the ceiling, introducing effective sound absorption without compromising the clean architectural language or carefully considered material palette.

Acoustic comfort without visual interruption

Extensive stone wall and floor finishes give the reception its refined, monolithic character. However, within such a large volume, these hard and reflective surfaces also made reverberation an important consideration. Managing sound was essential to creating the calm and comfortable atmosphere intended for the space.

Armourcoat Acoustic Plaster provided the necessary sound absorption while preserving the uninterrupted appearance of the ceiling. Applied as a seamless system, it allowed acoustic performance to become part of the architecture itself, avoiding visible panels, rafts or suspended elements that could have diluted the design intent.
