A new and exclusive material showcase was unveiled at this year’s Surface Design Show – aiming to inspire a fresh mindset in sustainable design and promote environmentally positive changes across architectural interiors. At Business Design Centre, London, 04 – 06 February.
Raw Earth by Armourcoat – At Surface Design Show
Raw Earth by Armourcoat explores the sustainable natural beauty of ecological paint and plaster finishes via a curated selection of earth inspired textures and tones. New finishes include a recently developed bespoke coarse Clay Lime Plaster with a heavily-textured surface, inspired by the timeless materiality of rammed earth architecture.
Sustainable Luxury – Material Showcase
A carefully curated collection of hand-applied paint and plaster finishes in natural tones and textures conveys the authentic, inherent beauty of Earth’s geological features. All finishes are consciously crafted to add natural depth and interest to architectural interiors, ensuring visual harmony and balance. Textures range from silky smooth to raw and rough… shining a spotlight on the diverse aesthetic of Armourcoat’s sustainable luxury finishes; and enabling the creation of unique interior spaces, including curved surface application.
Finish highlights on display
Clime Smooth – new bespoke Clay Lime Plaster finish made using unfired clay, limestone, recycled crushed marble, finished to a soft, smooth surface
Limewash – a refined natural ecological Architectural Coatings finish with outstanding environmental credentials and a soft tonal aesthetic
Istria – a matt stone Polished Plaster finish with subtle tonal variation and movement
Spatulata – a super fine, high-gloss Polished Plaster finish with marked surface depth and sheen
Colors
Featured tones on our Surface Design Show 2025 stand include ‘Sepia Landscape’, ‘Patagonian Dust’, and ‘Desert Morning’.
As with all Armourcoat colors, tones are achieved using natural mineral pigments dictated by what the earth has to offer, comprising contemporary soft neutrals to deeper mineral hues. All hand-applied and presenting their own distinct aesthetic and mood.
