Modern Elegance with Istria

The recent refurbishment of 4 Chiswell Street by Ben Adams Architects features Polished Plaster wall finishes, transforming a once tired office building into a modern and open workspace.

Situated near the historic Bunhill cricket ground in Islington, the building now boasts an impressive new façade and front entrance, leading into a double-height reception space filled with natural light. A sculpturally fluted wall, finished in Istria, alongside a custom terrazzo floor, continues a circular motif that runs throughout the design. With exposed services and a stylish use of concrete tones, the space has been reimagined as a contemporary and dynamic commercial building with a distinctive urban feel.

Named after the characteristic building of Venice, Istria is a natural mineral material made from aged lime putty and recycled crushed marble. The finish offers rich surface movement and tonal variation, beautifully complementing natural materials such as wood, stone, and fabric.
